(Agriculture & Animal Husbandry) from Govind Ballabh Pant University of Agriculture & Technology, Pantnagar, Uttarakhand (first Agricultural University in India); and M.Sc. (Agriculture) and Ph.D. in Genetics and Plant Breeding from Narendra Deva University of Agriculture & Technology, Kumarganj, Faizabad, Uttar Pradesh. His research are include Rice Varietal improvement for fragile environment.
Professional HistoryDr. Onkar Nath Singh joined as Technical Member, Plant Variety Protection Appellate Tribunal. Prior to joining the present post, Dr. Singh held as Director (Actg.), Head, Division of Crop Improvement, Principal Scientist (Plant Breeding) at ICAR, National Rice Research Institute, Cuttack, Senior Scientist at ICAR, Vivekananda Parvatiya Krishi Anusandhan Sansthan, Almora, Uttarakhand, Assistant and Associate Professor at Narendra Deva University of Agriculture & Technology, Faizabad, Assistant Professor at Dr. Rajendra Prasad Central Agricultural University, Bihar, Lecturer, Genetics & Plant Breeding, BNV P.G. College, Rath, Hamirpur, Uttar Pradesh.
Dr. Singh has been involved in developing more than 30 rice varieties with special reference to Aerobic rice in areas where there is acute shortage of water.
Dr. Singh has led several projects funded nationally and internationally and guided several Post Graduate students.
